Where to turn when you’re not feeling well

What does PCA therapy mean?

PCA (Person-Centered Approach) psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach within the humanistic direction that emphasizes the uniqueness of each individual, their ability for self-reflection, and inner growth. Founded by Carl Rogers, this approach focuses on creating a supportive and unconditionally accepting environment that allows the client to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment or rejection. The core principles of this therapy include acceptance, empathetic listening, and the authenticity of the therapist. These principles help the client accept themselves and, through this, gradually achieve change.

Many of mental health issues stem from problematic relationships, whether with others or with oneself. A safe space during therapy sessions allows to focus on these relationship bonds.

Therapy is an investment in oneself and is part of healthy mental hygiene and self-care.

Let’s find the way together

How does therapy help?

Therapeutic sessions help clients find their inner resources and abilities to find solutions to their problems. Even just saying everything out loud can bring great relief.

Therapy is not counseling where the therapist, as an expert who tells you exactly what to do to make a change. On the contrary, therapy is a process in which you become your own guide toward deeper satisfaction and balance in life. The goal of therapy is to help you connect with your inner compass, which will continue to guide you through life and help you navigate even the toughest moments.

As Carl Rogers says: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."

What I can offer

ONLINE THERAPY

Book a therapy session from anywhere in the world, with no travel time and no long waiting periods.

Usually I work with clients who come to me with anxiety, depressive states, traumatic experiences, self-harm behaviour, suicidal thoughts, or with identity difficulties. I have experience working with crisis situations and with abused and neglected children. I also like to incorporate mindfulness and focusing techniques to work with body experiences in therapy.

I offer online therapy for adults and adolescents.

It is possible to arrange urgent online sessions at non-standard times as part of crisis intervention services.

In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I am also interested in experience therapies involving horses. For those interested in equine assisted therapy, whether they are long-term therapy clients or pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain, I offer also therapy with horses in Cantabria, Spain. For more information, feel free to contact me.

Crisis Intervention

Crisis intervention is a short-term form of support designed for those going through a difficult life or traumatic event. This could include, for example, a death of a loved one, a breakdown of a relationship, loss of a job, unexpected illness, or any other stressful situation that feels overwhelming.

The goal of crisis intervention is to help manage intense emotions, calm down, and regain control over the situation.

As part of crisis intervention, we can arrange one or several sessions during the acute phase. After that, we can transition to long-term therapy together, or you may continue therapy elsewhere.

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”

Carl R. Rogers

Mgr. Veronika ešnerová

I am a therapist, crisis intervention specialist, and lecturer.

When working with my clients, I feel honored to walk alongside them on their healing journey.

During my bachelor's studies, I dedicated myself to understanding of our society and critical thinking. Even then, I realized that the human soul needs freedom but also support to thrive. I was fascinated by evolutionary psychology and, particularly, neuropsychology and the brain, which I explored further during my Erasmus study program in Valencia, Spain.

During my master’s studies, I delved into community values and I started to experience how powerful a dialogue and sharing can be, which brought me to the further interest in therapy. A key moment in my professional career  was working on a crisis helpline at the Children’s Crisis Center. I immersed myself in a world of working with clients experiencing great distress, suffering harm from others, and teetering on the edge of life and death as they struggled to escape anxiety and pain. Surprisingly, I discovered that even in the deepest darkness, a light of hope can emerge so strong it gives people the strength and motivation to seek change.

I believe that everyone has the potential to find their inner strength, even when facing difficult situations or recovering from traumatic events. Just as a small seed can grow into a mighty tree, people possess a vital life force that often needs just a little nurturing to continue growing.

Personally, I find my greatest inspiration in nature and among horses, which is my biggest passion. I spend part of the year in the countryside of northern Spain, where I care for our small herd of horses. In my free time, I tend to my vegetable garden, train horses, practice yoga, or go rock climbing. I cherish moments of silence filled with observing nature, whether it’s a sunset over the pasture or a walk along the beach.

Payments are made via bank transfer, payment details will be provided when scheduling a session. Appointments can be canceled up to 24 hours before the session. Later cancellation does not allow to offer the time to another client and the session fee must be paid.

Online sessions are conducted via a link that I will send to you in advance. It is important to ensure you are in a quiet, private space where you cannot be overheard or interrupted during therapy. I recommend having headphones ready in case of audio issues. A stable internet connection, something to drink, and comfortable seating are essential for a smooth session.

Sessions are ideally scheduled once a week or once every two weeks. Longer intervals may make it more challenging to maintain continuity and could slow the therapeutic process, especially at the beginning of therapy. However, we can adjust the frequency of sessions to suit your needs and availability.
